President - David Roach
David is the man with the vision. NEVAT is his conception for a better future and his dedication and passion to bring this to fruition has shown that this will not be just a flash in the pan project. He has always been there as the front man, giving 100% of his time and effort.
David brings with him a wealth of experience to the NEVAT team, as well as the all-important pilots' license. Being a volunteer of the Ashford Rural Fire Service and President of Ashford Masons demonstrates his willingness to not only be part of the community, but to be actively involved in it. As proprietor of a successful local business he has also demonstrated highly developed managerial skills.
David has been President of NEVAT since it was formed in March 2006 and will continue in this capacity for many years to come.
Vice-President - Emma Christensen
Emma was voted in as Vice President at the 2009 AGM. Emma has a commercial pilot's license and has been invaluable to NEVAT flights during the past year.
Secretary/Treasurer - Leeanne Vickers
Every good organisation has someone behind the scenes, taking care of business. Leeanne is NEVAT's financial advisor and business manager. She has a BFA and years of experience in banking and business management. Leeanne is also highly involved in local community development, being a founding member and Treasurer of the Ashford Business Council, Treasurer of Ashford P&C, a JP and a volunteer of the local SES.
Born in Ashford, Leeanne has a keen sense of interest in improving the standards of her home town, and more to the point, she is pro-active in doing so.
Leeanne has been Secretary/Treasurer since NEVAT was founded.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Wally Dedula
Wally has been a staunch supporter, including financially, of NEVAT since its inception. As the Publican of Ashford Commercial Hotel his help in providing a venue for fund raising events has been invaluable.
Wally's entrepreneurial skills have been of great service to NEVAT, in particular we pay tribute to his initial concept and support of the Ashford Shindig. Wally doesn't think small and this is exactly the kind of input that is needed to keep NEVAT flying in the future.
Michael Newby
For NEVAT to work, there is need for more than one pilot to be available to take the controls. Michael has volunteered to help us out and has proved his worth by piloting many of the flights.
Michael is the son John Newby, of Inverell Aviation, and is a welcome addition to the NEVAT team.
Freemasons
The Freemasons have been an integral part of NEVAT since the beginning. They provide the ground transport at the distant location, between airport and the medical centre. They have also been of great assistance with fundraising by way of major raffles and direct donations from masoniCare the grant making arm of NSW and ACT Freemasons (click here to view details).
Their assistance has been vital in the development of NEVAT and we salute them for their efforts.
