NEVAT was formed to help relieve the tyranny of distance for our community members who need to travel long distances to medical appointments in such places as Tamworth, Armidale and Toowoomba.

For this purpose, NEVAT has been fortunate enough to have secured the unlimited use of a locally owned aircraft as of May 2007.

NEVAT's objectives are:

To provide, for the benefit of members of the community, a free air transport service to obtain non-emergency medical treatment.
Generally to utilise the funds, credit and assets of the association in any manner which in the opinion of the committee is conducive or incidental to the provision or improvement of its service.

The overall mission count since NEVAT began is 146 missions and 257 passengers carried, with all missions being provided free of cost.
